Thoughts on Plus Plus Big
This Plus Plus Big block set included seven double sided cards. One side of the card included an outline of the block and the other did not – perfect for younger and older children.
The cards were sturdy and included lots of fun designs. If your child has a difficult time getting started or likes guided activities, they will love these cards! They’re perfect for children to start with if they need a little boost of confidence or need help kick-starting their imaginations too. After they’ve completed a card or two, their imaginations will likely be flowing with additional ideas for brick building!
An instruction kit was also included in the set.
After making a few designs from the cards, Miss 9 built a bridge for her cars to cross and a basket for her animals. Then, Miss 7 built a fence for her animals (which were actually included in the Timberdoodle Preschool Kit). Miss 4 mainly enjoyed using the cards to create designs and Miss 2 had fun just sticking the pieces together and taking them apart.
I loved how well built they were, how easy they were to place together, and how they stayed intact during play. Nothing is more frustrating than constructing something only to have to fall apart minutes later while playing.
How Else Can You Use Plus Plus Big Blocks?
- As math counters
- To practice patterns
- As a quiet-time activity for the little ones to work on during school time
