As a homeschool mom who loves both books and music, I knew Sing the Bible would be something special the moment I opened it.
Then I discovered the QR code inside the book.
Simply scan the code, and you instantly have access to a playlist with a song for every Bible verse included in the book. Such a simple idea, yet it completely transforms Scripture memorization into something fun, natural, and memorable.
My first thought was honestly, “I wish I had this when my two older children were younger.”
We have always used books in our homeschool. We have always used music. But I had never seen them paired together quite like this before.
The result is a resource that helps children memorize Scripture almost without realizing they’re doing it.

What Is Sing the Bible?
Sing the Bible by Randall Goodgame combines Bible verses, devotional thoughts, and music into one beautifully designed hardcover book.
Each section features a Bible verse printed clearly on the page alongside a corresponding Slugs & Bugs song that uses the exact words of Scripture. Children can read, listen, sing, and repeat the verse all at the same time.
The book also includes simple prompts that encourage families to:
- Talk about it
- Think about it
- Do it
- Pray it
- Live it
These discussion starters make it easy to move beyond simple memorization and help children understand how God’s Word applies to everyday life.

What We Loved Most
The Music Is Absolutely Beautiful
The songs are what make this resource shine.
These aren’t songs that feel thrown together simply to help children memorize verses. The music is thoughtfully written, enjoyable to listen to, and genuinely well produced.
Many children’s resources can become repetitive for parents after a while. That wasn’t the case here.
The songs are pleasant, memorable, and easy to sing along with. Before long, we found ourselves humming them throughout the day.

The QR Code Playlist Is Brilliant
One of my favorite features is how simple it is to access the music.
There is no complicated setup process. No searching online trying to find the correct song.
You simply scan the QR code inside the book and instantly have access to the playlist.
Everything is ready to go.
That convenience makes it much more likely that busy families will actually use the resource consistently.

Scripture Memory Feels Natural
Children often memorize things effortlessly when music is involved.
Think about how easily kids remember song lyrics, jingles, or favorite movie songs.
Sing the Bible takes advantage of that natural ability by pairing Scripture with memorable melodies.
Instead of sitting down and trying to force memorization, children begin learning verses through repetition and song.
The Bible verses start becoming familiar simply because they’re hearing them regularly.

How We Used Sing the Bible in Our Homeschool
One thing I appreciate about this resource is how flexible it is.
You don’t need to set aside a special hour every day to use it.
We found ourselves incorporating it into our routine in simple ways:
- During morning time
- At breakfast
- During Bible study
- While doing chores
- During quiet time
The songs became part of our day without requiring additional planning on my part.
Some days we simply listened.
Other days we sang along while reading the verses together.
Because the songs are enjoyable, the children didn’t view it as “schoolwork.” It felt more like a natural part of our day.
That’s one of the biggest strengths of this resource.

Great for Multiple Ages
Although the recommended age range is around 8–12 years old, I think many families will find younger siblings enjoy it as well.
Music naturally brings everyone together.
Older children can focus on understanding and memorizing the verses, while younger children absorb the songs and Scripture simply through listening.
That’s always a win in a homeschool family.
The Quality of the Book
The hardcover book itself is beautiful.
The illustrations are inviting, the pages are well designed, and the layout makes it easy for children to follow along while listening.
It’s the kind of book you’ll want to keep on your shelf and revisit year after year.
Who Is Sing the Bible Best For?
I would especially recommend Sing the Bible for:
- Homeschool families
- Christian families
- Parents teaching Scripture memory
- Grandparents looking for meaningful gifts
- Sunday school teachers
- Children’s ministry leaders
- Families who already enjoy Slugs & Bugs music
If your children learn well through music, this resource is especially worth considering.
Final Thoughts
There are plenty of Bible memory resources available today, but Sing the Bible stands out because it combines two powerful learning tools: books and music.
The songs are beautifully done.
The devotional prompts are simple and useful.
The QR code playlist makes everything easy to access.
Most importantly, it helps God’s Word become part of everyday life.
As a family that loves reading and music, we thoroughly enjoyed this resource. The songs pair perfectly with the verses, and it’s easy to see how children could carry these Scriptures with them for years simply because they learned them through song.
If you’re looking for a meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable way to help your children memorize Bible verses, Sing the Bible is a wonderful addition to your homeschool or family library.
