Using Perler beads, we created our own dominoes and put our own fun twist on them by using colors and even making some wild tiles!
What You’ll Need
Perler beads (we used the Biggie Beads)
Biggie Bead Pegboard (the smaller sized pegboard will not work with the Biggie Beads)
An iron (I’ve used several different brands of irons but this is my favorite brand – I swear it heats the Perler beads faster than any other iron)
What to Do
Begin by making your dominoes from Perler beads.
Miss 6 had the idea of making four-colored dominoes so we decided those would be perfect to use as “wild dominoes.” If you use a “wild domino” while playing, you can use either one of the two colors on the end- so you have two color options for that side instead of only one.
Once you’ve filled your pegboard with your dominoes, place one of the included ironing sheets (or parchment paper) on the top and carefully iron them until they are fused together (we placed our iron on med-high heat).
Once they’ve cooled, it’s time to play!
When you’re done playing, you can store them in a bag for later. We use these bags – they come in many different fun colors and patterns and the zipper makes them easy to open and close.
