This DIY is so easy and easily customized and you’ll love how excited your little ones will be when they get to make words out of stones. 🙂

What You’ll Need

Rocks

Paint pens

Mod Podge

What to Do

Begin by washing and drying your rocks.

Next, write the letters of the alphabet on the rocks. You could write uppercase letters on one side, then, once dry, write the lowercase letters on the other.

Be creative – use different colors (or you could use one color for vowels and another for consonants) or decorate around the letters as well.

Once your rocks have dried (allow several hours), you could apply a layer of Mod Podge to seal the paint. Allow to dry overnight.

Now it’s time to play! Set the alphabet rocks out for your child and ask them to place them in alphabetical order. You could also give them a few different alphabet rocks and ask them to see how many different words they can create from those letters. You could also spell out a word and ask your child to sound it out to you. Or, create part of a sentence and ask your child to complete it.
