Lego Duplo Color Sorting Activity with Washi Tape
Looking for a super easy color sorting activity for your little one? This activity requires only two items- washi tape and legos and takes only minutes to set up but will keep your little one busy for quite some time while they practice an important skill. Read on to see all the fun we had with this color sorting activity.
What You’ll Need
What to Do
Create rectangles using washi tape and adhere to a flat surface (table, hardwood floor, etc.). If your little one is old enough, they will probably enjoy helping you with this step just as much as the color sorting portion.
Once you’ve created 3-6 different colored rectangles from the washi tape, place a tray of legos near them and invite your child to sort them by color.
After awhile, the baby even joined in on the fun and it became who can get the legos in the square before the baby grabs them. 🙂
You could also mix in a couple of different colored legos that do not belong to each section and ask your child to remove the legos that do not belong.
You could also ask your child to count the number of legos inside each box. Or, ask them to place a certain number of blocks inside each box.
