We’ve been on a bit of a painting kick here and thought what better craft project to make with the kids than a fingerprint Christmas tree craft!
I love that their adorable little fingerprints are all over the tree – something I will treasure forever! If you’d like your kids to make one of their own, please continue reading below for full instructions and photos. And don’t worry if your little one isn’t one to get their hands in the paint – we have an easy tip so that they will still be able to have fun making their own Christmas tree without the paint on their fingers.
What You’ll Need
- Paper mache cone
- Paint
- Foam paintbrush
- Containers to put the paint in (these are so handy when you want a super easy clean up)

Once dry, squeeze a small amount of several different colors of paint into your containers and invite your child to dip their fingers into the paint and press them onto their tree. Miss 7 decided that the best method for this project was to dip all of her fingers on one hand into the paint. Luckily, we kept these nearby.

Miss 4 didn’t want to get paint on her hands this time around, so we pulled out a few Q-tips and she happily dipped those in the paint instead.
