Did you know that …
Rome was established less than ten years after Jonah’s trial in a fish?
Or that the Great Wall of China was built 200 years before the birth of Christ?
Whether you love history or struggle with it, Mystery of History will quickly become one of your favorite textbooks with its easy-to-read and understand conversational style, colorful graphics, bolded keywords, and well-organized chapters that will draw you in.
The graphics, borders, and overall color scheme of the book are absolutely gorgeous and did not go unnoticed! If you appreciate a well-designed book, you will LOVE this book.
Miss 12 spent hours reading, with no prompting from me. And after reading it, I quickly saw why.
In all honesty, this is one of my absolute favorite homeschool textbooks I’ve read. It doesn’t read at all like a textbook and could easily be used as a read-aloud book for children instead.
I loved their mini-biographies and fascinating stories about the events of the time.
I loved how Bible verses were incorporated and highlighted and showed why they were relevant not only during ancient times but now.
While the textbook is a stand-alone text, needing nothing else, you may find yourself hungry for more! Fortunately, numerous additional resources are available to choose from.
In fact, a download code to access a 600+ page digital Companion Guide is included on the inside front cover.
This digital companion guide includes:
- Pretests
- Activities for younger/middle/older students
- Timeline directions
- Mapping exercises
- Quizzes
- Literature suggestion
- And more!
I highly recommend this book to use with children of all ages. Whether you use it as a read-aloud with your younger children or use it as a full-year curriculum with your older children and incorporate the additional material, this book is a must-have on every homeschooler’s shelf!
In addition to volume I, several other volumes are also offered, which I look forward to reading next!
