What You’ll Need
What’s Included in the Science Set
- 400x microscope for kids
- 22-page activity journal
- 26-piece scientific tool set
We started by taking everything out of the box and exploring its contents. The kids (particularly Miss 7) were so excited to finally have a microscope of their own. We do own a USB microscope that we absolutely LOVE but it does need to be attached to a computer in order to work, so they were thrilled to have one they could use anytime or place.
After installing the batteries and exploring all the goodies that were included, we got right to work by exploring the specimens that were included. We decided to look at the peacock feather slide first and viewed it under the microscope at 40x. So fun!

We found the microscope very easy to use – simply turn the light on, insert your slide, and adjust the knob to bring the object into focus. It’s also very lightweight which is great – easy to move from room to room and if it happens to fall and land on little toes, you don’t have to worry about it causing injuries.
After viewing all of the included specimen slides, Miss 7 scoured the house for additional objects she wanted to further explore under the microscope.
Can you guess what this was?
It was the fabric XOXO card, at 40x magnification. So neat! This magnifying glass is sure to bring out the little scientist in your child and pique their imagination and curiosity. Such a great product to encourage scientific exploration and STEM learning.
We were also excited to find all the fantastic experiments included in the activity journal. What a terrific addition to Nancy B’s Science Club microscope kit! It was jam-packed with loads of fun activities to complete with the microscope.
