HABA’s palette of pegs is everything we look for in a toy for our kids: heirloom quality, colorful, provides open-ended play, and improves those fine motor skills. We also love that it can be used across a wide range of ages, which means our money is even better spent. Does this sound like you? If so, read on to see all the fun we’ve been having with this pegging toy and the different ways we like to use it.
We’ve had this toy for several years and it is one of our favorites! I almost didn’t buy it because it was a little more than I wanted to spend (I just checked and the current price is much less than when I purchased it) and I wasn’t sure if it would get a lot of use to make it worth it. But it was so colorful and I already knew the brand was quality (they use solid beech wood and solvent-free paint) because we own many of their products. So, after going back and forth for months, I finally decided to purchase it and I’m so glad I did!
So, what can you do with HABA’s palette of pegs? That’s what we love about this product so much – there isn’t really a right or wrong way to use it – but these are a few ways we like to use our HABA palette of pegs:
You could use the pegs and rings to create different patterns.
Or, you could match the pegs with the rings.
We also like to make shapes with the rings.
You could also play with the rings and pegs either with the board or without.
Sometimes we even like to play a game of “which set is matched with its correct complimentary color?” Somehow I lucked out and the baby, Miss 13 months, guessed correctly. 🙂
This product is listed for ages 2-6 but my 13 month old absolutely loves playing with this set, just as my 4 and 6 year old little ones do as well.
