Perler Bead Candle Holders {Easy DIY}

Perler Bead Candle Holders {Easy DIY}

We love perler beads! The bright colors, the simplicity, the countless opportunities for creativity. What’s not to like about the ever classic perler bead? We recently made some adorable mini clay perler bead pinch pots and while we were working on those, we brainstormed a few other perler bead crafts. We decided to try making perler bead candle holders first and we absolutely love how they turned out! Read on to see just how easy they are to make.

What You’ll Need

Oven safe container (we chose silicone cupcake liners and a small mason jar)

Perler beads

Cookie sheet

Olive oil

An oven

LED candle

What to Do

Coat the inside of your oven safe container with olive oil. This will help the perler beads stick to the container.

Place your perler beads inside your container. You can either pour a good amount of beads into your container and then tip the container on the side and “roll” it so that the beads stick to the bottom and sides, or you could pour the beads from your hand (a few at a time) onto the bottom and sides of your container. You will also want to ensure that the beads are no more than one bead thick.Perler Bead Candle Holders by The Art Kit Blog. Once you have covered the inside of your container with the perler beads, set the containers on a cookie sheet and place them into the oven at approximately 350 degrees. We kept a close eye on the oven and removed the cookie sheet and the containers once the beads had melted together.

Once your containers and beads have cooled, you can remove your perler bead creation from the container by simply sliding it out. It shouldn’t stick but rather it should instantly pop right out. Your perler bead candle holder may be a bit greasy from the oil; simply wash it off with some soap and water or wipe it with a damp towel.

Now it’s time to add your LED candle. We love how tiny bits of light shone through the open spaces of the perler bead candle holder. Neat, right?
