We're super excited to share our latest craft with you. If you've been following us for any amount of time, you know that right up there next to playdough - book-themed crafts are some of our favorite activities.

What You'll Need

  • Too Many Carrots book (an optional but fun addition to this craft!)
  • Cardboard
  • Orange paint
  • Green paint
  • Paintbrush
  • Container to put paint in
  • Green crinkle paper
  • Googly eyes
  • Black marker
  • Glue
  • Art smock
  • Plastic tray
  • Baby wipes or damp paper towels for easy cleanup
  • Divided tray (optional)

What to Do

Begin by reading the book, Too Many Carrots.

Next, place all of your craft supplies in a divided tray for easy access.

We then drew an outline of a carrot on a piece of cardboard. Miss 6 wanted to do this herself so she drew the carrot outlines for everyone and then I cut them out.

Next, we squirted some orange and green paint in our paint container and painted our carrots.

The kids had a blast with this book themed craft and really enjoyed painting on something different than paper or canvas.

You could also glue some green crinkle paper on top and add googly eyes or a face on your carrot if you'd like.
