How to make lavender playdough
We started by making a double batch of our one pot playdough. Once it was cool enough to handle, we kneaded it a bit, split it in half, and left half a natural color and dyed the other half purple. We then added a few drops of lavender essential oil. Now I’m not one to handle fragrances or perfumes but this smelled SO GOOD!

We then added a few scoops of lavender seeds and it smelled even better! It filled the room with a gentle scent of lavender and I’m telling you- we all felt calmer! Just the thought of it now gives me a deep breath of relief. Maybe we should start a new bedtime routine- bath time, playdough, stories.

The kids had a blast making lavender cookies with lavender seed sprinkles on top. They also enjoyed cutting up the playdough and scooping and sprinkling seeds. What we love about this activity is that there is no right or wrong way to enjoy it and every time you bring out a new batch of playdough, the kids find a new way to have fun with it!
