What Is Reading Eggs?

Reading Eggs is a comprehensive homeschool reading curriculum designed by education experts to make learning to read fun for ages 2 to 13. This multi‑award winning online reading program has provided homeschoolers and educators with a proven framework for over 15 years.

9 out of 10 of parents notice a remarkable improvement in just a few weeks!

It includes self-paced interactive lessons, games, songs, printable worksheets, and even books built right in.

You can use their program via their app or desktop version.

Our daughters had a blast going through the lessons and collecting eggs, which they could then use to unlock and play games. It’s a clever little motivator that really keeps kids excited to keep learning and exploring.

Years ago, we actually used Reading Eggs with our two oldest children and have just started using it again with our two youngest. They absolutely love it! Reading Eggs excels at making learning fun!

It’s not just for homeschoolers, though! Reading Eggs works well for children in traditional schools too!

My children used all of the programs and found them all beneficial. Miss 6 said she liked all the programs, whereas Miss 8 noted that Reading Eggspress was more challenging for her than Reading Eggs and even though it had fewer games than Reading Eggs, the games were still super fun. She loved that it challenged her more.

Miss 12 said she loved everything! She enjoyed the spelling, proofreading, completing the sentences, etc. in Reading Eggspress. I was so impressed with the quality and all of the educational components – Reading Eggs isn’t just games – it’s learning made fun!

An aspect I really love is the ability to use different programs – Reading Eggs truly grows with your child and family!

What We Loved as a Homeschool Family

1. It’s actually fun.
My kids love Reading Eggs! They’ve gotten quite a few laughs from the stories and games and I love how colorful, animated, and engaging the activities are.

2. It adapts to your child.
Your child has the option to start with a placement test, which I recommend doing. It’s super easy and is done online. This will ensure your child starts off right where they need to be!

The parent dashboard is super user-friendly. You can see your child’s lesson progress, quiz results, and more!

6. Based on scientific research.

Reading Eggs is built on proven scientific research and centers around the five essential building blocks of reading success: phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.

7. Multiple children.

You can add up to four children under your plan. I love that this fits a growing family – it isn’t everyday you find something your preschooler and your teen can benefit from!

Is It Worth It?

Honestly? YES, especially for early readers and struggling readers. Or, if their reading comprehension is lacking. Reading Eggs makes learning feel like play, and that’s huge when you’re juggling math tears, laundry piles, and babies.
