How to Make Egg Carton Flowers:

Step 1: Cut Out the Flower Shapes
Carefully cut apart the egg carton cups—these will be your flower petals! We used the sections that are in between the spaces where the eggs go but you can experiment with different areas of the egg cartons. You can even trim them into different petal shapes, such as rounded, pointed, or wavy edges for variety.

Step 2: Paint Your Flowers
Time to add some color if you’d like! We didn’t paint these but some fun accent colors would be fun to add more dimension. Don’t forget to paint the inside and outside for full coverage. Allow them to dry completely.

Step 3: Add the Center Decoration
Glue a button, pom-pom, or bead to the center of each flower to give it a polished look. You can even add glitter or sequins for extra sparkle!

Step 4: Attach the Stems and Leaves
Poke a small hole in the bottom of each egg carton cup and insert a pipe cleaner, straw, or popsicle stick. Secure with glue. We painted popsicle sticks green and attached them with hot glue. If you want leaves, cut leaf shapes from green construction paper and attach them to the stem. Or, use the green egg cartons and use them as the leaves.

  • Create a spring bouquet for a nature table or classroom display.
  • Use them as handmade gifts for grandparents, teachers, or friends.
  • Attach them to greeting cards for a unique 3D design.
  • Make a flower garland by stringing them together!
