Basic picture frames can easily be spruced up with colorful pom poms and today we are going to show you how! They’re great to use as picture frames or to frame that extra special piece of artwork from your child. They also make really great gifts for family members or friends.
But don’t take our word for it, read on to see how we made these cheery frames. 🙂
What You’ll Need
What to Do
Gather your supplies and heat up your hot glue gun. Tip: place a small paper plate under your hot glue gun to catch those extra drips.
Begin by putting a dab of hot glue on your picture frame and press a pom pom on it. Hold the pom pom in place for a few seconds to ensure it is properly secured. Repeat these steps until your entire picture frame is covered in pom poms. We found that a smooth and flat picture frame is easiest when it comes it gluing on pom poms.
While this project is probably better suited for older children or for parents, younger children can still be involved in the process. You could ask them to hand you the pom poms they’d like included or you could ask them for a particular color (great excuse to practice colors). You could also use a particular pattern and ask your child to help you with it.
Once your frame has been completely decorated with pom poms, pull off any extra hot glue gun strings and insert either a photo or some artwork from your child. You could also use it as a memo board and write messages on it with dry-erase markers.
