If you can’t go on a beach vacation, bring the beach vacation to you, right? This playdough setup has it all, including umbrellas, palm trees, a sandy beach, and lots of blue water. Read on to see all the fun!
What You’ll Need
- Homemade (or store-bought) playdough
- Glass stones
- Sea shells
- Drink umbrellas
- Mini palm trees
- In the water TOOB
- Ocean TOOB
What to Do
Make up (or buy) a couple batches of playdough (we separated our cooled playdough into different sections and added a couple drops of gel food coloring to one, a few more to the other, and even more coloring to the last, which gave us a nice gradient of color). We also left some of the playdough a natural color to resemble sand. Once your playdough is ready, gather all your beach themed goodies as well and place them out as a fun invitation to play for your little one.
We had a blast creating our beach scene! Our little ones used the glass stones as “bubbles,” and had quite a fun time working with all the different elements. The different TOOBS fit in perfectly to our scene as well!
Wait, is that a giraffe? Our younger one decided the giraffe was the one that should uncover all the hidden treasure from the ocean water.
And don’t forget the lego friends! Our oldest decided Elsa was the perfect addition to the beach setting. It also happened to be her birthday, so a sandcastle cake was in order. Happy birthday, Elsa! 🙂
We also had fun experimenting with different objects and discovering the imprints they left in the playdough.
