We've been playing Uno non-stop lately so I thought what better way to incorporate some additional learning than by creating a game using the same cards.

Using just one additional item we already had at home, I put together a very simple and fun activity for the kids to practice their numbers and spelling.

Read on below to see how it all came together.

What You'll Need

What to Do

Begin by placing your movable numbers and Uno cards on your work surface. Place one Uno card in front of your child and invite them to spell out the number with the Uno cards.

After you've completed this activity, you may enjoy this post from a fellow blogger on games to play with UNO cards.

You could also do the opposite and spell out a number and invite your child to select the correct Uno card to match the word.

Another fun activity for kids is this post on different Ways to Teach Rhyming Words.

Continue working through the various numbers. You could also expand on this idea and find objects around the house and ask your child to spell out those words as well.
