What You’ll Need
Once you’ve received your kit, it’s time to dig in! Every month, the experts at KidArtLit create a new themed kit so you may not necessarily receive the one we’ll be showing you today but we’ve received a few kits so far and they’ve all been hits so you really can’t go wrong, no matter which kit you receive. 🙂
The kids were so excited to open the kit once it arrived. Miss 16 months was the first to get a sneak peak. We loved how beautifully it was wrapped!
We took the book and supplies out of the box, took a quick glance, and then got right to work on our first project.
We started out cutting straws. The kids had a blast and it was a great activity to work on their fine motor skills. I loved the easy to follow instructions as well as the insight into the why of each project. In fact, every KidArtLit box comes with a mini magazine that guides you through each step of your project.
Next, we worked on our floral arrangements. There were plenty of supplies inside for both of our oldest children to make their own. The baby helped in her own way, acting as supervisor. 🙂
Next up, we made dolls. The children had a great time customizing their dolls with gems and faces.
Once we’d finished crafting, we realized we had completely forgotten to read the book first. Oops! So we took an art break and did some reading. I can be very picky when it comes to children’s books but this one definitely won me over! It had a fantastic storyline and darling illustrations. Definitely one to keep handy for frequent reads.
Have we sold you yet on KidArtLit? 🙂 It truly is a winning combination of art and storytime (two of my absolute favorite things).
