We just wrapped up our third week of The Peaceful Press and are still loving it! If you didn't see our posts from week one or two, you can check them out here and here. To see what we did in week three, please continue reading below.

We read several more chapters in Farmer Boy and learned all about potatoes in week three. Miss 2, 5, and 8 watercolor painted potato plants in their art books, using our beloved Farm Anatomy book as their guide.

We also dyed our silks which we were supposed to do in week one. 🙂 They turned out so well and it was really fun to see how each silk turned out. We even used the leftover colored water to make homemade playdough. If you'd like to learn more about dying your own silks and what foods we used, let me know and I'd be happy to write it all up!

Silks dyed with red cabbage/baking soda, turmeric, and red cabbage/vinegar. Amazing how light the red cabbage/baking soda silk turned out right?

The playdough shown below was dyed with turmeric and red cabbage/vinegar.

I also created a new timeline card and the girls drew potatoes on it. For dinner that night we had baked potatoes with ghee and bacon. Yum!

We also read A Fine Dessert and then made a batch of dairy/egg-free pumpkin bread and topped it with some vanilla frosting. It was so good we've made about four batches since. Hello, fall! 🙂

I then made a batch of playdough using some of the same spices from the bread. It smelled sooo good! The girls used the playdough to make playdough potatoes.

Of course, we also worked on our copy work. The girls always love working on this.
