What to Do
Begin by hydrating your water beads (read the instructions on the packaging). We placed a couple pinches of each color into a large container of water and allowed them to hydrate overnight. By the next morning, the water beads were ready for play! After dumping out most of the excess water, we poured the water beads into one of our IKEA bins. It worked perfectly to contain the beads but wasn’t so deep that it was difficult to play.
Next, place your figurines into the container and allow your child’s imagination to run wild! We love setting out these sensory bins because they are a blast for the kids and take very little prep work.
You may also enjoy these sensory bins from a fellow blogger.
Or, take a look at this cotton ball sensory bin, also from a fellow blogger.
Doesn’t this look neat? Makes you want to just dive in, doesn’t it?
We also created a fun printable that includes the sun and planets.
Print and laminate it and invite your child to search for the sun and planets from their sensory bin and place them on the coordinating image on the sheet.
