Looking for something to exfoliate and moisturize your skin? Our lavender sugar body scrub is so easy to make, moisturizes well without being heavy, and smells absolutely divine! It’s like a little bit of tropical vacation in a jar. Continue reading to discover how easy it is to make your own lavender sugar body scrub.
What You’ll Need
- Sugar
- Coconut oil
- Lavender Seeds
- Lavender essential oil
- Mixing bowl
- Mixing Spoon
- Container to store your scrub
What to Do
Pour 1 cup of sugar into your bowl.
Add in 1/2 cup of coconut oil.
Pour in 1/2 cup of lavender seeds. If you don’t have any lavender seeds on hand, your scrub should still turn out great but we had a big bag of them as we had ordered them to use in our calming lavender playdough so we thought we’d add them to the mix and we thought they were a great addition to our lavender sugar body scrub!
You also enjoy learning how to make a flax seed heating bag from a fellow blogger.
Add approximately 10 drops of lavender oil and mix all your ingredients together.
Pour your scrub into a container. We put our scrub into a canning jar as we like to keep it on the counter. We also like to keep a batch of our lavender sugar body scrub in a plastic tub on our bath tub shelf.
Doesn’t it look wonderful? It smells so good! It’s an easy and affordable way to treat yourself everyday. We like to use a little scrub throughout the day to keep our hands extra soft. Simply rub a bit of the scrub on and rinse off. It’s as easy as that!
We love how great it makes our skin feels! And the mild lavender and coconut oil scent is just divine!
If you made a batch, we’d love to see it! Share with us on social media, #theartkit.

Can I ask... Why did you choose sugar instead of cane or brown sugar? We made foot scrubs for pry of our Proverbs 31 study last year to give as Christmas gifts and used a few differnt scents. But, we used brown sugar as all the recipes I could find at the time were brown sugar or coffee! What's the difference? Do you know?

Great question! I mostly used regular sugar because I had a huge bag of it (thank you, Costco!) and because I was aiming for a more affordable body scrub. I believe brown sugar has a few different properties than regular sugar (smaller grains, etc.). Brown sugar is better suited in facial scrubs (although you could definitely use it in body scrubs as well), while regular sugar can be used in body scrubs.
