What You’ll Need
- Wood spools
- Watercolor paints
- Paintbrush
- Cup of water (these are so handy and easy to store)
- This CD would be lovely to listen to while painting

What to Do
Begin by placing your supplies on a table in an inviting way. We placed a handful or two of wood spools in a container, the watercolor paints and brush, and a cup of water by a sunny window and invited our children to paint the spools.

Invite your child to paint the wood spools.
Doesn’t this just look so peaceful and inviting? We really enjoyed this invitation to create. We made a full rainbow of spools.
They dried quickly and then we enjoyed stacking and sorting them.
