These egg carton jellyfish are such a fun and easy craft for the kids to make and after making them we turned them into puppets and the kids had a blast playing with them. Read on to see how we made them! 🙂

What You’ll Need

What to Do

Begin by cutting out two sections of your egg carton. If you don’t have any egg cartons on hand, you could pick some up here (which is what we did).

Next, paint your egg cartons inside and out.

Once dry, cut some yarn about a foot long, varying your colors if desired, and tie a knot at the end, securing all the strands together.

Next, hot glue the knotted strand to the middle of the inside of the egg carton.

Attach googly eyes.

Next, dab a bit of hot glue to the top of the egg carton jellyfish and push a piece of stretchy string into it. Hold the string there until the glue has cooled. Next, glue the string that is attached to the top of the egg carton to one end of a popsicle stick. Do the same thing for the other egg carton jellyfish but attach it to the other end of the popsicle stick.

Once the glue has dried, it’s time to play! Watch your jellyfish dance back and forth. You could even cut open a cardboard box and paint a scene on it for your jellyfish!
