Vanilla Playdough Recipe {Smells Heavenly!}

Our latest homemade playdough smells absolutely heavenly and we're certain you will fall in love with it as much as we did. Today we're excited to share with you our squishy, soft, and sweet-smelling vanilla playdough recipe. For the full recipe, as well as play ideas, continue reading below.
What You'll Need
- A batch or two of our one-pot playdough
- Vanilla essential oil
- Cookie cutters
- Gems, stones, buttons, beads, pom poms, or other similar items to use with your vanilla playdough
- Mini scoopers
- Mini play ice cream cones
- Mini rolling pin

Making the Playdough
Begin by making a batch or two (we typically make one batch per child) of our one-pot playdough.
This is our tried and true recipe that is super easy to make.
Or, make our no-cook playdough using a stand mixer - SO EASY!!
After you've made your playdough, allow it to cool for a few minutes, and then carefully plop it onto a sheet of parchment paper.
While it cools, you can take out the additional supplies needed for this vanilla playdough activity and place them in your divided tray.
Once your playdough has cooled enough to handle, simply make a bit of an indentation in your playdough, add your vanilla in the middle of your playdough, and fold your playdough over and over until it has been incorporated.

Once your playdough has cooled and the vanilla extract has been added, place it into your divided tray, along with the other materials, and invite your child to play. We made a simple invitation to play and set out some glass stones, pom poms, mini rolling pins, cookie cutters, scoopers, play cones, and gems. The kids really enjoyed scooping the vanilla playdough like ice cream.
We also made a batch of ground cloves playdough and cinnamon playdough and used those along with the cinnamon playdough. They all smelled so good together!
