Djeco Modeling Dough Funny Faces: Timberdoodle Product Review

If you’ve been a follower for long, you know how much we love our playdough so when we had the opportunity to review Djeco’s modeling dough funny faces kit from Timberdoodle, I jumped on it!
Add stripes to the zebra and dots to the ladybug in this latest art kit from Djeco. Children as young as two will have fun finishing these reusable silly pictures with the Djeco modeling dough. With four tubs of ultra-soft and non-staining dough, Funny Faces is a great introduction to modeling with a purpose for preschoolers.
The kit includes a step-by-step color booklet, clay tool, four tubs of dough, and eight simple, three-dimensional animal cards.
The boards are laminated and can be used multiple times. I wasn’t sure if the dough would come off but to my happy surprise, it all came right off.
And because the boards are laminated, kids can decorate the cards over and over again in a different way each time. Miss 1 (almost 2), Miss 3, Miss 6, and Miss 9 all enjoyed decorating the adorable animal cards.
Not only did they enjoy bringing the animals to life with the colorful clay, but they also worked on important fine motor skills as they rolled and sculpted the dough.
A couple aspects that I noticed, that may be an issue for others, was the smell of the clay and that it was a bit sticky. The strong odor would likely not be offensive to most (I am very sensitive to smells) but if you are sensitive to smells, you may want to use these boards with your own playdough.
All in all, the kids had fun with the funny face dough cards and next time we’ll simply use them with our own playdough.
