As a long-time reader of Chicken Soup for the Soul – I remember spending hours reading them as a pre-teen/teenager – I was so excited to read through their latest book! There is just something about the stories that pull you in and keep you reading.
Beside each story is an image to color. Not only does this one-of-a-kind book include 29 full-length Chicken Soup for the Soul stories, it also includes 38 pages of images to color that celebrate angels, miracles, and nature.
I find the books so inspiring and encouraging; even if they do leave you a bit teary-eyed at times.
The stories remind us that those we’ve lost aren’t so far away after all, that they’re looking out for us until we can be reunited one day, and miracles are all around if we can just slow down and look for them.
In fact, as I read through one of the stories, I got goosebumps. It was a story of a young woman who heard her grandmother’s voice as she slept. Her voice kept getting louder and louder as she warned the young woman that she needed to put her baby in the crib.
Her grandmother had passed away several years before and was missed terribly by the young woman.
As she awoke in a cold sweat, she went to her baby and within moments of moving him, a large crash startled her. She ran to where her baby had been to see a giant tree limb and broken glass from the window.
Had she not received that warning from her grandmother and moved her baby when she had, the outcome would have been devasting.
This book would make a wonderful gift for any friend, family member, teen, or teacher. Pair it with a fresh set of colored pencils for a lovely gift!
In fact, my two oldest daughters ran off with the book almost as soon as I received it. 😅
