Stuck inside with the kids climbing the walls like caffeinated squirrels? 🙋‍♀️ Oh, friend, we’ve all been there. And sometimes, you just need something—anything—that will keep them happy without requiring you to dig through the craft closet for googly eyes or spend 45 minutes setting up a Pinterest-worthy activity.

Good news: these 50 no-prep indoor kids activities require ZERO supplies (not even paper!) and work for all ages. Think: instant boredom-busters you can pull out of your back pocket right now.

Whether it’s raining, snowing, or just “I-can’t-handle-another-screen-time-battle” o’clock, these ideas will save the day.

1–10: Movement Games (Burn That Energy!)

  2. Hallway Bowling (No Ball? No Problem!) – Roll up socks and knock over imaginary pins.
  3. Freeze Dance – Crank the tunes. Dance like maniacs. Freeze when the music stops.
  4. Simon Says Extreme – Add ridiculous moves: “Simon says do the worm while singing the ABCs!”

  6. Jumping Contest – Who can jump the farthest? Highest? Most frog jumps in 30 seconds?
  7. Shadow Tag – Tag someone by stepping on their shadow (hello, living room lamp fun!).

  1. 20 Questions (Kid Edition) – Think of an animal, food, or person; they guess yes/no style.

  5. Whisper Chain – Whisper a sentence around the room and laugh when it comes back silly.
  6. Alphabet Hunt (No Supplies) – Name something in the room for every letter of the alphabet.
  7. I Spy (With a Twist) – Only spy tiny things or things that start with a certain sound.
  8. One-Minute Stories – Tell a story in 60 seconds. Bonus if it’s ridiculous.
  9. Memory Game (No Cards) – List items: “I’m packing a bag with….” Each person repeats and adds.
  10. Pantomime – Act out chores, animals, or book characters. Everyone guesses.

21–30: Learning Disguised as Fun (Shhh… Don’t Tell Them!)

  9. Name 5 – “Name 5 things that are green / things that fly / things in the kitchen.”

  8. Superhero Rest Pose – Lie down but pretend you’re recharging superhero powers.
  9. Secret Handshakes – Create silly new ones.
  10. Dream Time Storytelling – Close eyes and tell what you “see” in your dreams.

Why No-Prep Activities Are GOLD (Especially for Homeschool Parents)

No-prep = no stress. Seriously, these activities save you when:

  • You’re teaching a math lesson and need the toddler distracted for 10 minutes.
  • You can’t find the glue sticks because someone glued them to the craft project (true story).
  • You just need five minutes of quiet.

The best part? Kids love that these feel like games, not “mom-made-me-do-this-because-it’s-educational” activities.
