What are 3D Treasure Chests?
Using our template, you can easily create your own 3D treasure box!
Supplies you may need
- Scissors
- Printer paper or cardstock (we used cardstock)
- Markers, crayons, watercolors
- Glue stick
- Gems to glue on (always fun!)

How to make your 3D treasure chest with gems
- Print out the pages (we printed ours on cardstock)
- Color the treasure chest and gems
- Cut along the outer lines
- Fold where indicated
- Glue where indicated
- Play!
Glue the gems onto cardboard if desired. Or, paste them into the treasure chest.
How to use the 3D treasure chest
- Use it as a gift box
- Add a note inside and send it off
- Decorate your room or school space it
- Keep some, give some away
- Write an encouraging note, place it inside, and leave it on a neighbor’s doorstep anonymously
Optional educational activities
- Invite your child to place a certain number of gems into the treasure chest to practice counting.
- Write letters on the back and invite them to place the letter A gem into the treasure chest to practice letters.
- Invite them to place the blue gem into the treasure chest to practice colors.
