You might be wondering, how do I make a cootie catcher?
Cootie catcher instructions
Begin by printing out our free template – instructions are below.
Then, cut out along the outside orange lines.
Then, fold it according to the images shown below.
How do you play with a cootie catcher?
After your cootie catcher is folded, ask a friend to play with you.
- Invite them to ask a question such as, “Should I eat more pie,” “Should I take a nap,” or “Should I go for a walk.”
- Then, have your friend pick one of the images from the outside flaps.
- Move the flaps by moving your fingers in and out and side to side in time with the letters, spelling out the word they chose.
- Open the cootie catcher to reveal the numbers and ask them to pick one.
- Count out the number they have chosen by moving the flaps in and out and side to side the same number of times as the number they chose.
- Then, ask them to pick another number.
- Open the flap beneath their chosen number to reveal the answer to their question.
