Beyond the Stick Figure – An Online Full-Year Art Curriculum for Children {Review} + Coupon Code!
Young children love to create – which, if you have young children, you can likely attest to by the piles of artwork they leave behind. 🙂 Often times though, as children grow older, they may not create as often as they used to. Unfortunately, outside influences may tell them they aren’t artists, that they don’t have the gift, or that their artwork isn’t worthy. Imagine, though, being able to give them the gift of confidence – showing them that they do have the gift – they just need to nurture it! Beyond the Stick Figure – an online art program – can do just that! I also have a coupon code to share so be sure to use that if you sign up for the course (it’s towards the end of the review).

Beyond the Stick Figure is a program that can be used by the whole family. Imagine everyone sitting around the table, creating beautiful art, together! No more guessing about what to teach for art. No more guilt that you aren’t doing enough art with your children. Imagine falling in love with art, again.
Nurture your child’s inner art genius with this easy-to-use, done-for-you art course that will have the whole family enjoying art together.
Beyond the Stick Figure is a 36 week art curriculum built for busy moms like you! It is packed with weekly technique lessons, daily practice lessons, short targeted exercises, and heaps of fun. Students will compile over 20 unique projects over the five units: drawing, pen and ink, watercolor, acrylic, and 3D sculpture design. This course is geared toward kids 5-95, with easy to follow instructions and differentiated projects. It is the perfect way to introduce your entire family to the world of art.
Unlike most of the art programs out there, Beyond the Stick Figure is not just a collection of projects, but a course in art techniques. These core techniques will give your child the confidence and ability to independently create masterpieces. With built in practice sessions, children will be encouraged to practice and improve their skills.
Beyond the Stick Figure provides five days of instructions each week for a year full of art!
We started the course with a fun shape scavenger hunt around the house. This will help with learning how to see like an artist. Even if you know all your shapes, this is an important first step, because the first step in
Next, we learned how to draw with the different shapes – circles, dots, curved lines, and straight lines.
The children enjoyed drawing the different shapes on their sheets of paper.
Then, it’s time to put it all together! The children are currently working on this step and have really enjoyed the videos so far. We don’t typically watch videos (we tend to gravitate more towards books) but we all really enjoyed the videos because even if little sisters get fussy and I need to step out and help them, the older girls can still work on their lessons without interruption, which is great.
We have just barely scratched the surface on this art course – there are many more videos to see and we are so excited to watch more!
I loved how easy the videos were to listen to and follow and the girls absolutely ate up all the tutorials. I wasn’t sure what to expect, honestly, but the videos were terrific and they kept their attention and interest for quite a while!
We’ll be back with more updates once we complete more videos. 🙂
